Your Body’s Message on Fibromyalgia

If you are navigating the constant pain, fatigue, and brain fog of fibromyalgia, this post offers a new perspective on your body’s message on fibromyalgia. For those with chronic pain, what if it’s not a ‘disease’ that defines you, but rather a communication from your body that is asking to be heard? It may be a dysregulated nervous system simply stuck asking for safety.

Understanding Central Sensitization

From a scientific perspective, this state is often called central sensitization. This means the brain and the nervous system are stuck in a hypervigilant feedback loop. Your body’s internal alarm system is constantly amplifying threat signals, and consequently, it has forgotten how to return to a state of feeling safe. It is important to understand that this is not a disease of the tissues. Instead, it is a dysregulation of the body’s communication and sensory processing system.

Energetically, this condition can be seen as a program running on repeat. It is a deeply held imprint of survival, often stemming from past trauma or unresolved emotional frequencies that are still active in your system. Your body isn’t broken. In fact, it’s brilliantly trying to protect you based on old, outdated information.

Your Body’s Message on Fibromyalgia: “I Do Not Feel Safe”

The persistent pain you experience is not your enemy. The pain is a messenger, and its message is a fundamental one that needs to be acknowledged before it can be released.

The pain is a messenger, the message is I do not feel safe.

This deep-seated distortion is often held in your root chakra. This is your energetic foundation for safety, security, and your physical right to be here in your body. When this foundational energy center is dysregulated, the entire nervous system remains on high alert, creating a cycle of pain and exhaustion. To shift this pattern, we must work to reestablish a profound sense of safety at this foundational level.

An Exercise to Anchor a New Frequency of Safety

Let’s anchor a new frequency together with a simple, yet powerful practice. You can do this right now.

  1. Go ahead and place one hand on your lower abdomen, the physical space where you find your root chakra.
  2. Take a deep, conscious breath in. As you exhale, feel the weight of your body and give your body permission to truly be here, right now.
  3. Now, bring this powerful intention or choice into your energetic field. You can say it out loud or silently in your head, whichever feels best for you.

I choose to know that I’m safe to be in my body. It is okay for the old threat signals to rest. Now, I choose for all the signals to receive all the love and support they require to know that we are safe. I choose to return my nervous system to the zero point. I choose peace and ease from this point.

  1. Take another deep breath in and out. When you are ready, you can open your eyes if you had them closed.

Remembering Your Original Blueprint

This simple exercise is an act of remembrance. You are the consciousness that has the power to remember your original blueprint of health, peace, and vitality. You hold the keys to recalibrating your system.

If you feel you need more support on this journey, this is the work we do. This is where we step into being cycle breakers and conscious creators of our reality.
