This perspective shifts everything, suggesting that ongoing discomfort from wear and tear or old injuries might have a much deeper source than we initially realize.

The Energetic Roots of Physical Pain

This is a deep truth. Your root chakra, your energetic foundation, doesn’t just store a story. It actually holds the unacknowledged survival trauma of your entire life. Think about it. Your bones, your legs, your knees, and your feet are what physically connect you to the earth. They are what give you structure. Furthermore, they are what allow you to stand your ground and move with stability.

Why Your Pain Isn’t Just Physical

When this foundational system is in pain, with issues like chronic knee problems, plantar fasciitis, or weak ankles, your body is communicating a fracture in your foundation. A Simple Grounding Practice to Reclaim Your Connection

You can start right now by reestablishing this vital connection with a simple practice. Standing with bare feet outside is one of the most powerful things you can do for yourself, but even indoors on the floor is effective.

  1. If you can, stand up with your bare feet on the ground.
  2. Really plant your feet firmly. Sway a little and wedge your toes into the ground, as if you’re planting your feet into soil.
  3. Continue to move and sway as you plant your feet. Feel the floor beneath you, and let the floor feel you in return.
  4. With each deeper planting, imagine you’re sending a vibrational shockwave up your legs, into your bones, and right into your root chakra.
  5. As you do this, you are announcing your presence. You are physically reclaiming your right to be here. You’re saying to your body, “Let’s walk this earth in full presence.”
  6. Finally, say to your root chakra, “Thank you. I see you, but the war is over. We are safe and we also belong.”
