You shifted your business to create freedom, but why does it feel like a cage? This is a critical question for conscious entrepreneurs who are here to create impact, build wealth, and make great changes in their clients’ lives. Many build a business with the dual intention of serving the world and creating personal freedom. So, why do so many conscious entrepreneurs build businesses for freedom, only to end up feeling trapped in a cage of their own making?

From Freedom Dream to Hamster Wheel Reality
What happens for so many entrepreneurs is the very thing that was supposed to bring our freedom ends up becoming another cage. You may have traded the nine-to-five job for a new reality of rushing and grinding away within your own life. Perhaps you’ve even built incredible success, but you’ve ended up trapped on a hamster wheel that is of your own making this time.
For years, I lived through what I call “entrepreneur’s hell”. It’s a draining cycle that so many of us experience, and it often begins with a simple push.
The Vicious Cycle of Entrepreneurial Burnout
This pattern starts with a goal, a launch, or something you’re building. It unfolds in a predictable, yet destructive, sequence.
- Push: You start with a big push. You grind, you hustle, and you go for it with all your energy.
- Chase: Somewhere along the way, the initial excitement of creation shifts. You move from bringing an idea forward to chasing clients and chasing success.
- Burnout: The chase inevitably leads to burnout. You lose the excitement and energy for what you were creating. It turns into an exhausting ordeal where you’re just trying to put one foot in front of the other, but you keep getting knocked back.
- Collapse: This is where you begin to collapse. Your nervous system can’t hold the actual end results of the vision you were creating. This can look like a collapse in the business, your health, or an inability to show up consistently.
- Sacrifice: As this unfolds, you end up sacrificing your joy, inner peace, passion, and sense of purpose. Worst of all, you sacrifice your time and freedom… the very things the business was supposed to create.
Why Your Freedom Business Feels Like a Cage: The Unconscious Cycle
So, why does this happen? There’s an unconscious cycle buried in our nervous system. We have to be able to restructure our nervous system to become a container that can hold both what your business is creating and the life that you ultimately want to live… a life that you love.
What it is is nervous system resonance and the capacity for you to be a container for the value that your business provides and the freedom that can come with that value.
The scary thing is that entrepreneurs, motivated by success, often have to maintain an image of authority. They need to look like they have it all together. As a result, they never actually allow themselves to talk about the struggle. You see others succeeding and think, “I need to be like them. I don’t have it all together. Nothing’s working for me.” You feel stuck in that loop of push, chase, burnout, collapse, and sacrifice.
The good news is most entrepreneurs are looping the same cycle too. They’re just refusing to admit it to themselves, and they definitely won’t admit it to you. I’ve been there. I’ve walked through that cycle, and I’ve seen the crumbling collapse that comes on the other side.
How to Make a Permanent Shift
If you’re ready to break out, I want to share what I discovered that allowed me to make a permanent shift. It’s about how to restructure your nervous system and how to restructure your chakras. These are the energetic components of your consciousness that hold the core structures for what can come into your reality, both in your personal life and your business.
If you’re not showing up in freedom, you end up in a place where even if you have the liberty to take time off and go on vacation, you can never actually enjoy it. You’re stressing about the next fire you have to put out, the next client you need to get, or the next marketing campaign you have to run. If your business has become a cage, it’s time to change the underlying structure.
I break down in-depth exactly where these structures get stuck in our nervous system and in our chakra system in an immersive training. If you’d like to explore how to become a container for both success and freedom, you’re invited to tune in.
