Why Being ‘busy’ Is The Ultimate Form Of Self-sabotage

Have you ever wondered why being ‘busy’ is the ultimate form of self-sabotage? Our obsession with constant activity can often be a clever trick our minds play on us, a way to avoid the deep, meaningful work that truly moves us forward. This simple power move can help you finally break free from these frustrating cycles.

The Deceptive Comfort of ‘Busywork’

Here is a powerful strategy that can snap you out of cycles of self-sabotage. First, you must identify where you are keeping busy doing something that feels accomplished. It feels like you’re being productive, but in reality, it’s not moving you forward towards a real result. So often when we have a goal or something we want to create, this pattern emerges.

Why Your Brain Chooses Busyness Over Progress

Because we’re not yet at that result, because we haven’t achieved the goal, our brain registers a feeling of being unaccomplished. To deal with this discomfort, your brain wants to compensate and solve that feeling first, even before it actually moves you towards the goal. So, what does your brain do? It comes up with some busywork, something that feels accomplished.

This can even be something like scrolling on TikTok. It’s an activity that gives you a quick hit of dopamine, making you feel productive and accomplished, and yet it’s not moving you towards your goals at all. Your brain will go for that easy win because it satisfies the immediate need to resolve the feeling of not being productive. This busywork successfully neutralizes the uncomfortable feeling, but it does absolutely nothing to actually move the needle in your business or in the project that you’re building.

Why Being ‘Busy’ Is The Ultimate Form Of Self-sabotage for Entrepreneurs

This is one of the biggest forms of self-sabotage that I see so many entrepreneurs face in their business and with the projects they’re building. They end up busy, busy, busy, and start wearing that busyness like a badge of honor. Eventually, it becomes completely and utterly exhausting for them. You might hear them say things like, “I’m constantly busy working on this,” but when you look closer, they’re not actually making any real progress.

The reason is simply that their brain is looking for a quick fix to the feeling of not having accomplished the goal yet. We need a new approach.

Retraining Your Brain for the Long Game

We need to retrain the brain and the nervous system how to play the long game. This involves learning how to be okay with not feeling like you’re accomplishing something every single moment. The key is to generate that feeling of accomplishment from the real tasks that matter instead of chasing the quick dopamine highs from meaningless activity.

Break the Cycle and Reclaim Your Energy

If you’re ready to break the cycle and get your energy and mindset right, I want to help. I will be walking through the seven cycles of self-sabotage and linking them up with the seven chakras to show you exactly where these cycles get stuck in your chakra system. Most importantly, I will equip you with the tools to break yourself free and shift this using your 13-chakra Source Code Blueprint.

If you’re ready to create that level of freedom, you can find all the details to reserve your seat at our Break Free From Self Sabotage class. Check the schedule on the registration page for the next available training. I’ll see you there on the flip side.
