What Your Gut Is Really Trying To Tell You

That constant ‘burning’ in your stomach might not be acid. So, what your gut is really trying to tell you is often more profound. It could be your solar plexus processing unresolved emotional energy. That intense gut feeling or discomfort is a form of communication, not just a physical symptom you need to stop.

Your symptoms are not working against you. They’re communicating with you.

Understanding Your Solar Plexus Your Internal Fire Center

Let’s talk about the solar plexus. This is your third chakra, your internal fire center. It is directly connected to your sense of direction, your ability to respond to life, and how you process both food and experience. Physically, it supports your entire digestive system, including your stomach, pancreas, gallbladder, and intestines.

The primary role of this energy center is to take what you experience and help your body process, transform, and move it through your system. But sometimes, the system can become overwhelmed by life.

What Your Gut Is Really Trying To Tell You About Unprocessed Emotions

Think about moments where something feels hard to process. Perhaps there’s tension, frustration, or an intensity that hasn’t fully moved through you yet. This doesn’t mean anything is wrong with you. Instead, it simply means something hasn’t been fully integrated by your system.

So, the body responds in the only way it knows how. It increases its activity, it increases heat, and it increases intensity in an attempt to process what feels unresolved. Over time, that internal effort can begin to feel like a burning sensation, like pressure, or like general discomfort in your gut.

Instead of asking, “How do I stop this feeling?” you can begin to explore a different question. You can ask, “What is still being processed within me?” The goal is not to analyze it or to fix it, but just to notice it with gentle awareness.

A Simple Practice for Releasing Emotional Heat

Here is something simple you can try the next time you feel that intensity. This exercise helps your body regulate itself without force.

  1. Place your hands gently on your upper abdomen, right where your rib cage meets your stomach.
  2. Take a slow, deep breath in through your nose.
  3. As you exhale, let the breath out slowly through your mouth, making a soft “shhh” sound. Imagine you are gently releasing heat.
  4. Try that a couple of times. You are not trying to change your body. You are allowing it to regulate.

As you do this, just notice what shifts in your body, even if the change feels very slight. Your system doesn’t need to be pushed. It truly responds to awareness.

So, the next time you feel that intensity in your stomach, instead of immediately resisting it, just pause. Place your hands there, breathe, and just notice. Allow your body to do what it already knows how to do.

If you want to explore how your body communicates like this and how these patterns connect your nervous system and energy centers, we explore this in our 13 chakra class. You can check the schedule for the next Ignite Your 13 Chakra Blueprint event and grab your seat. I’ll see you there.
