The Power Move for True Emotional Freedom
The ultimate power move is the ability to simply feel every emotion that comes up without needing a story to explain why it’s here. It’s about letting go of the need to say, “Well, I feel this way because of this, this, and this.” Instead, you can just say, “I feel this way.” and leave it at that. This practice invites you to feel it fully, soak it in completely, and simply be with whatever the feeling is.
Whether it’s sadness, anger, frustration, excitement, joy, or happiness, it doesn’t matter if you label it as “positive” or “negative.” Just embrace the feeling completely. When you learn to do this, you teach your nervous system something incredibly powerful. You teach it not to be afraid of your emotions.
Why Attaching Stories Creates Fear
Normally, we attach stories to every emotion that we feel. Consequently, when we attach stories to an emotion, it can become something to be afraid of. The logic becomes, “If I feel this way, then there’s a bad story that goes with it.” But this isn’t the truth. You can just feel, without any accompanying narrative.
When you can allow yourself to feel exactly what you’re feeling without the need to justify it with a story, just be present to the feeling. Now you’re emotionally free.
When you achieve this, something else magical happens. You set your reality free. Your external circumstances can continue being positive, even if you’re having a rough day internally. You break the cycle where your emotional state dictates your physical reality.
How We Manifest Negative Circumstances
Your emotional self no longer needs to go and manifest bad circumstances just to finally get you to feel the negative emotions that you’ve been avoiding. This is the reason negative situations manifest in our lives most of the time. There is a part of ourselves that we’re not connected with, a feeling we don’t want to actually experience because we’ve labeled it as “negative.”
So, what do we do? We push it away. And when we push that feeling away, it has no choice but to go and manifest a negative circumstance in our life. Why? So that it finally has a “valid” reason to be there. We are so accustomed to requiring justification for why we feel something that this cycle feels completely normal, but it’s not. You are allowed to feel whatever you feel without needing a reason.
So embrace the feeling. Go get busy creating a life that you love, a life where you can feel every emotion that arises without fear or judgment.
