Have you ever started strong on a new goal, only to find yourself self-sabotaging or running out of steam halfway through? It’s a common struggle, and it often comes down to using the wrong type of motivation. If you’ve been wondering why you keep getting stuck, you might be overlooking the motivation fuel you’re missing. Let’s explore the two types of fuel and how you can make a powerful shift from pain-based motivation to a more sustainable, desire-based approach.

Understanding the Two Types of Motivation Fuel
You have a goal or something you desire to create, and you’re trying to motivate yourself to work towards it. If you’ve started down that path only to run out of motivation halfway, there’s a clear reason why. There are two types of fuel for motivation, and most people are using the one that inevitably leads to stagnation.
Pain-Based Fuel: The Common Jumpstart
The type of fuel that our society conditions us to use is pain-based fuel. This is the motivation that comes from having an experience you don’t want. You decide to build something new because you want to change your circumstances. This drive stems from the pain of the past, a sense of lack, or the frustration of your current situation. It’s the feeling of things not being good right now that drives you to create change.
This type of fuel is actually great for one thing, it jumpstarts you. It brings the powerful awareness that your current reality is not what you want, compelling you to do something about it. It can nudge you out of stagnation and get you moving, which is fantastic. However, there’s a critical flaw in this approach.
The moment you start moving toward what you desire, you begin to have less and less pain-based motivation. Why? Because the pain starts to go away as you actively work on creating something new. This diminishing pain means your fuel source is drying up, leaving you stranded before you reach your destination.
Desire-Based Fuel: The Sustainable Power Source
This is where you need to shift into desire-based fuel for your motivation. This involves attaching your motivation directly to the desire to create the life you love, the business expansion you dream of, or the healthy body you envision. Your desire needs to become your greatest anchor point. This approach magnetizes you faster and faster towards your goal. The closer you get, the more energy you’ll have to continue pursuing it.
Why We Get Stuck in the Motivation Loop
Unfortunately, most people are missing the neurological circuits and energetic structure in their chakra system to actually connect with desire-based motivation. Because so much of our life is fueled by pain, it’s often the only type of motivation we know how to use. This is why many people get stuck halfway towards their goal. They run out of fuel, feel like they’ve hit a wall, and lose all motivation.
Then, that lack of motivation becomes the new pain to solve. You try to fix the pain of not having motivation by forcing more motivation, and it turns into an endless, stagnating loop.
If you’re ready to embody this shift fully and rewire your mindset and energetic structures, it’s important to understand how these cycles get stuck. For those interested in a deeper dive, I invite you to see the training I’m doing for cycle breakers, where we map out where these cycles get stuck in the seven chakra system and how to reset them with your source code blueprint using your 13 chakra system. The Power Move to Unlock The Motivation Fuel You’re Missing
If you’re ready to exit the loop, the power move is to consciously shift gears and connect yourself to a new source of motivation. Here is a simple yet profound process you can use every time you feel your motivation running low.
- Visualize Your Power Center: Close your eyes and visualize a swirling, golden sphere of energy in your solar plexus chakra, right in your gut.
- Connect to Your Goal: Visualize a strand or thread of energy coming out of your stomach and connecting to a vivid image of the life you love. This could be your thriving business, the future you with a perfectly healthy body, or whatever your ultimate goal is.
- Receive the Energy: Envision a pulse of energy flowing from that future goal, back through the thread, and into your stomach. Feel it filling you up, like you’ve just eaten a healthy, hearty, and energizing meal.
Anchor Your New Reality with a Mantra
While you use this visualization as often as needed, you must also anchor this shift with a powerful mantra. Repeat this every single day to reprogram your subconscious supercomputer.
My desire is my motivation.
Declare it. Write it down. Say it out loud. By doing this, you reprogram your mind to no longer associate motivation with the pain of the past. Instead, it will associate the fuel for your actions with the desire for the future you are actively creating.
Aligning Your Perception with Your Future
This simple shift will begin to pull all of your perceptions into alignment with your future. It will unlock doors in your subconscious mind, showing you opportunities you would have otherwise missed. When you fuel yourself on the pain of the past, you are limited in the opportunities you can even see.
However, when you begin to fuel yourself on your desire for the future, you can see far more opportunities that will move you in the direction of your goals. Continually anchor your motivation to your future desires, and I’ll see you there on the flip side, in a life that you truly love.
