Understanding the Alpha Brainwave State
So, what exactly are Alpha brainwaves? Alpha is a waking brainwave state, just a little bit slower than the more active Beta brainwaves. It is measured at about eight to 12 hertz. The key to understanding Alpha lies in its dual nature. When you are in this state, you are alert but also very relaxed at the same time. This unique combination is why it’s often known as the daydreaming state.
The Highly Suggestible State of Mind
Alpha is an incredibly suggestible state. When you are in this mental space, you become like a nine-year-old child, absorbing the information and suggestions being given to you without much critical filter. This is not an accident; it is a mechanism that is often used intentionally.
This is precisely why television is programmed to put us into an Alpha state almost immediately. As you watch, suggestions are given to you in that receptive state, and you might then go on to purchase whatever is being sold. This same principle is a cornerstone of traditional hypnosis techniques.
This is powerful science being used against choice.
Reclaiming Your Power with Conscious Alpha
But now that this is in your awareness, we can reclaim this power. Alpha is the frequency that bridges your internal and external worlds. Think of it as your internal focus bubble. When you learn to use it consciously, the benefits are immense. Tuning into Alpha can lead to:

- Increased intelligence
- Enhanced creativity
When you are tuned into Alpha, you are highly capable of absorbing new information. This is why shutting off the external “dump” of information and instead steering your own consciousness is such a powerful idea. Alpha is your entry point to even deeper states of awareness, consciously bordering the Theta waves.
How to Stop Being Programmed and Start Being the Programmer
You have the power to steer your own consciousness. If you are ready to stop being programmed and start being the programmer, you must learn to use this frequency with intention. This does not mean you should never watch a movie or TV show again. Instead, it means you should watch it intentionally. Make it your choice, and be mindful of what you choose to create from that experience.
