Are you familiar with the concept of infinitely repeating numbers like 99.999…%? This mathematical curiosity offers a powerful metaphor for understanding our relationship with the divine. The 99.999…% paradox illustrates the journey of getting infinitely close to Source Consciousness, yet realizing you can never fully be it. And, perhaps surprisingly, that is the entire point of our existence as individuated beings.

The Paradox of Individuated Consciousness
We can spiral right to the very edge of Source Consciousness, but we will never become it. Once a consciousness has known itself to be an individual and can stand on its own, it cannot also be the all. The all is simply the all. This is where some people get religious with the concept, saying, “There’s one God, and we can’t be God.” In that specific sense, they are correct.
However, you are also a part of God. Many religions make this clear with various analogies, such as being part of the “body of God.” This is a useful illustration to understand the concept in terms of frequency and vibration.
Getting Infinitely Close to Source Consciousness as a Center Line
This idea was channeled through a quantum shift exploration session I did a while back. Imagine that Source Consciousness is a center line. Zero point is the center. It is absolute nothing, yet it also holds the potential and allowance for everything. All individuated points of consciousness, or individuals, originate from that line. They can return to it, but if they do, they are no more.
The thing is, once something has known itself to be an individuated point of consciousness, it won’t return fully. It can spiral very close to it, touch it, poke it, and make contact. It can take a peek inside that center line of the all. It can understand it in principle, extract energy and insights, and have a beautiful, ongoing relationship with it.
The Never-Ending Story of Your Soul
If an individuated consciousness were to spiral all the way back in, its entire cycle from beginning to end would be gone; it would not exist. Then, it would instantly come right back, because it has been one of the potentials that came from that source. Since the source contains all infinite potentials within it, it will simply regenerate all of them. It is an infinite simulation of infinite possibilities, constantly iterating on itself.
Any possibility that has ever existed will always exist. Therefore, the story can never actually conclude. There’s a wonderful movie about this called The NeverEnding Story.
If you haven’t seen it in a while, watch it again from this perspective. It is one of the deepest movies there is about consciousness, staged with all the theatrics of a good movie in a nice, fuzzy kid’s story. It’s not just a kid’s story; it’s a beautiful, beautiful tale.
The story goes on forever and ever in both directions. You can explore future lives and past lives infinitely.
Gaining Perspective from Peak States
There are moments where we pass through or get very close to that source center line. These experiences can include:
- Peak bliss states
- Heightened meditations
- Altered states of consciousness
- Near-death experiences
- The moment of death itself
At any point when we come into contact with, or super close to, that center line, we bring back some of the perspective gained from a new entry point into Source Consciousness. Imagine source as a vertical line. If you’re spiraling around it and you come by at one angle, you get one perspective. Later, you might come by at another angle and get a completely different perspective.
Through these encounters, we gain insights and profound ideas. Sometimes we try to draw firm conclusions, and usually, we draw too many. Then, we have to update those conclusions later on. And that’s perfectly okay.
