I am officially breaking up with the corporate dream, and I want to share why. For a long time, I believed it was the only path. You perform well, get a promotion, and climb the corporate ladder. I was one of the lucky ones where that path actually worked. The success was intoxicating. I had the nice condo, the new car, a secure salary, and an exciting opportunity to become the CEO of a $2.2 million tech business was in the works. This was the dream, wasn’t it? I had gotten farther than most people ever do, and I was succeeding at it.
Prefer to watch? I’ve put my video below or if you’re a reader simply continue reading the post.
The Illusion of Success
It truly felt like I had made it. It was like I had found a hidden doorway out of being just a kid from a small town. I entered a room where everyone was focused on a bigger picture, speaking the language of success, innovation, and leadership.
But then, I came home one Friday evening and realized it was all a facade. Everyone was talking about success, but no one was actually happy. Everyone was throwing around big numbers, but no one felt truly fulfilled. Everyone was innovating ideas, but no one was living with real purpose.
The Corporate Dream as a Collective Coping Mechanism
At the root of it all, there was an elephant in the room that nobody would acknowledge. The entire structure felt like a huge coping mechanism. It was people coping with not feeling good enough by chasing money. It was professionals masking inner child wounds by competing for the top spot on the company leaderboard. It was individuals hiding from the pain of disconnection by burying themselves in more work or another launch.
They were chasing validation because their value was tied to their output. And I was right there, part of it all, but I kept thinking, “Is this all there is? Doesn’t anyone want more out of life?”
I watched my boss, who I was slated to replace as CEO when he retired, and I thought, “Is that where I want to end up? Working my life away until I barely have a few good years left?” That couldn’t be the point of all this.
The High Cost of Inauthenticity
Now, don’t get me wrong, my time as the director of that company taught me a lot. But I also saw it for what it was, a trap for unhealed people hiding behind an illusion of success that didn’t actually mean anything. I watched them make plans for life “later on” while real life slipped by right now. I felt myself being conditioned to delay living until I was old and nearly dead.
- I watched people label emotional suppression as good leadership.
- I watched people obsess over the identity of appearing successful rather than living a life that actually felt like a success.
- I watched people talk about going to the next level, but never actually reaching it.
- I watched people speak about freedom only to live like they were in chains.
- I watched people teach about being powerful leaders while they squashed the dreams of others.
- I watched people sell their dreams for the security of a $2 raise in their salary.
- I watched people burn out while leaders were conditioned to applaud them for wearing busy like a badge of honor.
- I watched people suffer from anxiety and depression, forced to just “suck it up” without any empathy from their peers or superiors.
And worst of all was the inauthenticity. Inauthenticity disguised as good performance. Inauthenticity crowned as the only path to success. I watched people without an ounce of authenticity be praised by everyone for being role models, perpetuating these toxic behaviors.
Finding True Success in Nature and Authenticity
But do you know what is always authentic? Nature. Nature has a few billion years of success under its belt, and it’s raw, real, and authentic. Nature is unforgiving, direct, and truly powerful. I realized the most successful thing I could do is align with nature and be authentic.
The most successful thing I can do is show the f*ck up as myself, even when everyone else doesn’t approve. The most successful thing I can do is live freely right now rather than delay it for a future that will never come.
The most successful thing I can do is have empathy for those who are struggling and lead through empowerment. The most successful thing I can do is be me right now and be free.
But the corporate world will do anything to keep themselves and others from actually being authentically who they are. They will tell any imaginable story to avoid embodying their power and taking ownership of their actions, and they’ll make sure everyone else isn’t allowed to either. They’ll make a bunch of rules just so they don’t have to confront their own inner emotional trauma.
The World Needs Authentic, Awakened Creators
That’s not what the world needs. The world needs creators who are committed to seeing what needs to change within themselves, and then changing. The world needs creators who are willing to see what needs to change in the world, and then go build whatever is needed to change it. The world needs business owners and leaders who are willing to see what needs to change in their businesses and then be open enough to change it. But that can’t happen if nobody can be authentic.
The people who change the world most are not the most “successful” in their corporate jobs, but they are the most authentic. They’re the most spiritually aligned. They’re the most true to themselves, with a commitment and devotion to a mission in their higher consciousness. They’re the most connected with their inner emotions, and mostly, they’re conscious, awakened entrepreneurs… leaders who create their vision from a place of embodied freedom right now. And with that freedom, they build with purpose and they craft empires that make an impact.
Your Invitation to Create with Freedom
Don’t get me wrong, I learned a lot climbing that ladder 10 years ago, and I still love a good business discussion. I’ll never knock a good spreadsheet with some juicy stats. But for f*ck’s sake, let’s stop pretending that going to college, getting a corporate job, and chasing a level of success that’s defined entirely by other people’s expectations is the only thing that matters. That might work for a few people, but it’s a life sentence to death row for most of us. What really matters is freedom and creating with authenticity as the foundation.
That corporate job taught me how to problem-solve, break down complex tasks, and organize large systems. But to be honest, I’m glad I walked away and started my own business 10 years ago. I’m thankful I still believed in myself enough to dive into a journey to discover my authentic self, heal my inner child, and expand through spirituality. And I’m here to remind you that you can do it too.
In that journey, I found that when you create your own business and build in alignment with your calling or purpose, guided by your higher consciousness, your business starts to flow like nature. It begins to pulse with your creative authenticity, and it can move in the same pattern as the spiritual energy system of your body, your chakras. That’s when everything can come together into alignment.
If you’re still here, you’re probably nodding your head and have walked a similar path. You’re done with the false promises of 9-to-5 jobs, selling your energy to someone else, and you’re ready to embrace your full spiritual authenticity to create freedom. If that sounds like you, consider this your permission slip to take that step, to go all in on yourself. It’s time to build your own thing.
If you’d like some guidance in breaking out of old loops to embody your creative power, discover your authenticity, and create a business that’s spiritually aligned, we host a powerful two-day masterclass training called Starseed Stagnation to Activation for conscious entrepreneurs. It’s time to embody your authenticity, activate your source code, and build like the creators we were meant to be.
