The Real Reason Your Patterns Keep Returning

The Flaw in Traditional Healing Modalities

So many people find themselves having to go back for another program, another session, or to discover yet another layer of an old issue. This happens because of the way many common modalities approach change. When you want to shift a thought, a pattern, or a trauma, methods like hypnosis often put you right inside that experience. They might even ask you to relive it, which can be incredibly traumatic.

Imagine the pattern is a single point. These modalities place you inside of that point and then tell you to change it into its opposite. This approach, however, sets up a fundamental conflict that prevents lasting change.

The Polarity Trap: Why “Positive Thinking” Is Just a Bandaid

Let’s visualize this pattern within an infinity symbol, representing its dual nature. If the pattern operates in a negative polarity, most modalities instruct you to force it into the positive polarity. But what are we actually doing when we do that? We are simply moving from one side of the infinity loop to the other.

For one polarity to exist, its opposite must also exist. For the negative to be there, its positive counterpart is required, and vice versa. By trying to replace the negative with the positive, you aren’t resolving the core issue. You are just reinforcing the dynamic that requires both to be present.

Essentially, you’re just putting a bandaid on top of the negative thing and making it positive. It doesn’t work.

This is why so many things come up again, and again, and again. You hear yourself saying, “Oh, there’s another layer,” or, “I thought I dealt with this already.” You believe you’ve figured it out, but the root cause was never addressed, only covered up.

The Real Reason Your Patterns Keep Returning: A Pendulum Problem

To understand this better, think about a pendulum. A pendulum swings between two points, just like a pattern swings between its positive and negative polarities. When you ask a pendulum a question for a “yes” or “no” answer, it moves to one side or the other. This is the same principle.

Now, if you pull the pendulum towards you because you want something, it will naturally swing away. Likewise, if you try to push something away from you, it will inevitably swing back. The energy you exert in one direction creates an equal and opposite reaction.

This is precisely what most modalities do with patterns. They put you inside the pattern and say, “Where do you want this to go? Push it there.” But by pushing it toward the positive, you guarantee it will eventually swing back to the negative. This is why a pattern you thought you handled 10 years ago can suddenly come back around.

A New Approach: Becoming the Awareness of the Pattern

With Zero Point Facilitation, the approach is completely different. We don’t go into the pattern. Instead, we step back and look at the entire pattern, observing both polarities from a neutral perspective. We become the awareness of the pattern itself, rather than a participant in its swing.
