I’ve stopped ‘trying to change’ myself and it’s been a complete game changer. For so long, I believed that personal growth was about forcing myself to become something different, but I’ve learned that you don’t need to change yourself, just see yourself more clearly. Here’s the perspective shift that has made all the difference.

The Common Misconception About Personal Change
Most people approach personal change from the perspective of trying to become something different than they are. They set goals to become more confident, more calm, more successful, or more in control. This effort is often rooted in a desire to move away from something they do not want to feel or experience within themselves. It’s a constant push towards a future, idealized version of who they think they should be.
This method, however, sets up an internal conflict. By trying to become different, you are implicitly telling yourself that who you are right now is not enough. This creates resistance and a struggle against your current reality, which can be exhausting and counterproductive. True transformation requires a different starting point.
The Power of Neutrality and Seeing What Is
The path of neutrality operates differently. It is not focused on the struggle of becoming something else. Instead, it is focused on simply seeing what is already here, right now, within you. It’s about shifting from forceful change to gentle awareness. When you can neutrally observe your own thoughts and feelings without judgment, something profound happens.
Because when you can clearly see a thought, a belief, or a pattern, you no longer need to fight it. You no longer need to replace it with something “better.” The very act of seeing it clearly means you are no longer unconsciously inside of it, and that awareness alone changes your relationship to it completely. You are now the observer, not the victim of your own patterns. Why You Don’t Need to Change Yourself, Just See Yourself
This is why, in practices like zero point facilitation, the guiding question is not “What do I need to change about myself?” This question keeps you locked in the paradigm of being broken or flawed. Instead, the question becomes something far more empowering and expansive.
What if there is no story to define why I desire to change, but simply because I’m aware that I can choose at any point what I prefer right now?
This new question opens a completely different door. It removes the pressure and the self-judgment. From this place, change is no longer something you are desperately trying to create or force into existence. It is something that happens naturally, as a direct result of your own awareness becoming clear and present.
Allowing Change to Emerge Naturally
This is the true foundation of this work. We are not forcing change or battling against ourselves. We are allowing it to emerge organically from the level of the original you, the core of your being that is already whole and complete. When you stop trying to change and start trying to see, the transformation you seek happens on its own, effortlessly and beautifully.
