- Pick an Object: Silently pick any object that catches your eye. Have you got one? Now, focus on it for just a moment.
- Notice the Label: As you are looking at the object, notice how your mind automatically starts to label it. You might identify what it is, what it’s for, or even have a random thought about it. Just observe this happening.
- Drop the Label: Now, without looking away, consciously drop the label. Don’t call it anything. Stop trying to describe it.
- Simply See It: Just see the object. View it completely raw, without any meaning attached to it, as if you’re seeing it for the first time before it had any interpretation.
- Observe the Shift: Finally, notice what happens next. Pay attention to even the most subtle changes. Does your mind go quieter? Does your body feel slightly different?
