What Your Skin Is Really Trying to Tell You

If you’re dealing with frustrating acne, flare-ups, or sudden skin irritation, you’ve likely been told it’s your hormones, diet, or stress. While these factors can play a role, I realized my acne wasn’t about my diet or hormones; it was about what I wasn’t saying. It’s time to explore what your skin is really trying to tell you, because often, it’s pushing something out that you’re not expressing.

Beyond Hormones, Food, and Stress

When you experience a breakout, the common culprits are usually hormones, food, or stress. And yes, those can be contributing factors. However, what happens internally must naturally manifest externally. It is often easier to say that it’s something else, and these factors become external blamers. This is not to blame you, but to highlight a perspective that most people don’t see.

Your skin isn’t breaking out. It’s pushing something out that you’re not expressing.

The Neurological Link Between Your Skin and Emotions

Your skin is a boundary; it is the physical interface between you and the world out there. What many don’t realize is that, neurologically, your skin and your nervous system are directly linked. They actually develop from the same embryonic layer. This means your skin doesn’t just react to what you eat or the products you use. It reacts to your experience.

Your skin directly responds to pressure, to suppression, and most importantly, to unexpressed emotion. Energetically, this connects to your sacral and your throat chakras. These are the centers of what you feel but do not express. Therefore, instead of being released through your voice, the energy gets released through your skin. In medical terms, this is literally called “expressing the inflammation.”

Breakouts often show up when you’re holding something in, not saying what you actually feel, or tolerating something that doesn’t feel aligned anymore. Remember, the body doesn’t suppress; it just redirects.

A Simple Practice to Hear What Your Skin Is Really Trying to Tell You

So, the next time you notice a flare-up, I invite you to try this simple yet powerful exercise to connect with your body’s message.

  1. Place your hand gently on the area where you have the inflammation.
  2. Take a deep breath in and as you exhale, ask yourself the following questions.
  3. Don’t analyze the answers. Just notice what comes up.
  4. Journal Prompts for Clarity

    • What am I not saying right now?
    • What am I holding back?
    • What am I not expressing that is true for me?

After you have noticed what comes up, say to yourself, “It’s safe for me to express this.” Because the moment expression becomes safe, the body no longer needs to push it out physically.

    Your Body Is Always Communicating

If your body has been speaking through symptoms, please know it’s not random. It never is, and it’s never just physical. The body is always the last resort for communication, pointing to a deeper mental and energetic process that needs your attention.

We break this down deeply inside our events, showing you how to gently break these cycles through neutrality. If this resonates, we invite you to explore our training on how to Break Free From Self Sabotage and repeating patterns. You can check the schedule for the next available class at the link.
