We often rush to blame our diet when we experience bloating, but it’s essential to look at the energetic connection as well. Your stomach is the seat of the solar plexus chakra, which is your center of personal power, will, and identity. This energy center is incredibly sensitive to situations where we feel powerless or compromise our truth.
Think about it. When you say “yes” but you actually mean “no,” your body has a visceral reaction. It creates a form of energetic indigestion because you are failing to stand in your own authority. You are, in a very real sense, not digesting your current reality with your own power.
You literally cannot stomach your reality because you are not digesting it with your own power.
This internal conflict manifests physically as bloat. It is a physical expansion designed to create the space you are afraid to take up energetically. In essence, it is a self-sabotage pattern rooted in self-abandonment. When you drop your boundaries and fail to protect your core, your body steps in and puffs up to do the job for you.
A Body Key for When That Bloating Isn’t Gluten, It’s Your Power
So, what can you do in the moment to reclaim your energy and tell your body it’s safe? Here is a simple but profound body key you can use to implement your true power. I call it the “Power Pulse,” and it helps to instantly shift the energy and restore your center.
How to Perform the Power Pulse
- Take your fingers and locate the soft spot just above your belly button.
- Begin to tap firmly in a steady rhythm, such as 1-2-3, 1-2-3, 1-2-3.
- As you tap, breathe deeply into that spot. Consciously push your belly out against your tapping fingers with each inhale.
- While tapping and breathing, repeat this affirmation to yourself, either silently or out loud: “I choose to take my power back. I choose to trust my gut.”
Continue this for a few rounds of breath. You will feel the energy shift almost instantly as you bring your conscious awareness and intention back to your center of power.
