Have you ever considered that the cold or flu you’ve caught is more than just an illness? I started viewing my colds as a ‘mandatory system update’ from my body, and it changed everything. This perspective reveals your body’s message in sickness and shows how it might be forcing a ‘hard reset’ on you, too, lovingly guiding you back to a state of balance.

Sickness as a ‘Mandatory System Update’
That cold or flu you sometimes catch is a message. Think of it as a mandatory system update. Your body is brilliantly communicating with you, and its primary message is one simple, powerful word: rest. Energetically, an infection can only anchor itself when your system is depleted.
This depletion often happens because you have been overgiving, overdoing, or running a program that is out of alignment with your true self. In response, your body is now forcing a hard reset. It is lovingly and forcefully guiding you back to the zero point, a place of neutral balance and rejuvenation.
Decoding Your Body’s Message In Sickness
To understand the specific message, we must listen to where the illness has landed in the body. The location is not random; it points directly to an energetic imbalance within your chakra system.
Nose and Sinuses (Third Eye Chakra)
If your symptoms are in your nose and sinuses, this is tied to your third eye chakra. Your body is essentially saying, “I’m overwhelmed by what I am perceiving.” It’s a signal that you need to shut down your sensory input and take a break from processing so much information and intuition.
Throat and Larynx (Throat Chakra)
When you have a sore throat or lose your voice, this points to your throat chakra. The communication here is about suppressed truth. Ask yourself, “What truth am I suppressing? Where have I given my voice away? Where have I not spoken my truth?”
Lungs and Bronchi (Heart Chakra)
If the illness is deep in your bronchi and lungs, manifesting as a heavy cough, congestion, or even pneumonia, this relates to your heart chakra. This energy center governs your life force, or prana. Such conditions often signify unprocessed grief, sadness, or a feeling of “I cannot breathe in my own life.”
How to Recover Quickly by Communicating with Your Body
To recover quickly, we must stop fighting the body and start communicating with it. Instead of judging the symptoms, we can partner with our bodies in the healing process. Here is a simple practice to begin this dialogue and support your recovery.
- Place one hand on your heart and the other hand on the area that is speaking the loudest, such as your throat, sinuses, or chest.
- Allow yourself to receive a deep breath. Instead of judging the illness, genuinely thank your body for the communication it is providing.
- Give your body permission to heal and recalibrate. Now, state a new conscious choice, embedding this new frequency into your energetic field.
I give my body full permission to rest, repair, and recalibrate. I allow all programs of burnout and depletion to rest with me, and I choose to action what they communicate. I choose to return to wholeness with ease.
After this, truly surrender to the rest your body is demanding. You are in a state of remembrance, and this period of illness is a beautiful catalyst for profound change.
