Your Breakthrough is on the Other Side of Resistance

I used to think my anxiety and self-sabotage were enemies to be defeated, but what if they’re actually messengers asking for help? When your nervous system scrambles and piles up with resistance, it can feel like your whole body is screaming at you. This isn’t a sign to retreat; it’s a sign that your breakthrough is on the other side of resistance, waiting for you in unfamiliar territory.

Understanding the Nervous System’s SOS Signal

When you feel this intense internal resistance, it’s a sign that you are on the edge of a breakthrough. You are walking into a territory that your nervous system is completely unfamiliar with. You are moving from the programming of the past, which feels familiar and safe, to a new set of choices defined by a life that you love. However, this new life is unfamiliar and doesn’t feel safe. It lacks the protective bubble of familiarity that the past provides.

So, your nervous system screams, it fights back, and it scrambles to find some way to get you to stay where it’s safe. The trick isn’t to fight your nervous system. The trick is to learn how to communicate consciously through your nervous system, connecting with the part of yourself that does not know if it can exist where you’re trying to go.

Why Your Breakthrough Is On The Other Side Of Resistance

Think of it like this. You’re moving out of an old house of lack, limitation, or old programming, and you’re moving into a new house… a life that you love. When you make that move, every part of you that only knows how to exist in the old paradigm simply doesn’t know if it can exist with you in the new place.

Consequently, it begins to come up with reasons you should stop or go back. It will sabotage you if you try to force it, get rid of it, heal it, or fix it. When you do, it feels like you’re telling that part of yourself that it’s not good enough, not worthy, or doesn’t deserve to come along. So, it lives out that story, creating more circumstances that reinforce the pattern of not being good enough. It will obliterate your best-laid plans, not because it hates you or wants you to fail, but because it knows a fundamental truth.

If you are going to succeed, it must come with you. But it doesn’t know how to do that because its entire job description was based in the old paradigm. When you try to move to the new paradigm, it doesn’t know if it will still have a job or a reason to live.

Stop Pushing Your Fear Away

When this part of you gets scared, it reaches out for help. It can only do that from the negative paradigm, so it shows up as a negative thought or emotion. But because it feels negative, your instinct is to resist it. You think, “Oh, this is the old paradigm. Let me push that away, get rid of that, heal that, or fix that.”

The moment you do that, you’re once again telling that part of yourself that it’s not good enough and that you have to get rid of it before you can move forward. You reinforce the very thing it’s afraid of, which is greater separation within yourself. But it knows the truth; you cannot go there without it. It’s putting up its hand, saying, “Hey, I’m here. I see we’re going to a new place. I don’t know how to live there, but I know you need me to come with you. I know you need every part of you on board to build the life that you love.”

So stop leaving any part of yourself behind. Stop dismissing any aspect of your nervous system. Learn to communicate with every aspect of yourself with perfect love and perfect trust.

How to Communicate With Your Inner Self

When that negative thought pattern comes up, find that part of yourself and say, “Hey, I love you. I see you. I’m willing to connect with you. I’m right here.” Give it a big hug and bring it with you into the life you love. Show it that the scared part of you, the one stuck in the old paradigm, can actually experience the life you love with you.

The part of yourself that’s scared, that triggers the nervous system, that runs the self-sabotage program… it’s not bad. It’s like a five-year-old or three-year-old you, completely innocent, stuck doing what it has to do to survive. It’s ready, but it’s also scared.

This is not a journey of getting rid of, releasing, healing, and fixing everything like you’ve been told. This is a journey of allowing every part of you to join you in your heart, to become embodied as the whole and perfect consciousness that you are, and then allow that to be expressed in the creation of a life that you love.

A Framework for Unification and Growth

For the longest time, I didn’t know how to do this. I was stuck healing, fixing, scrambling, and fighting my nervous system, trying to get rid of every part of myself that I thought was in the way. What changed everything was learning to work with the 13 chakra system as a framework for communicating within my own consciousness. It helped bridge the gap between the part of me that wanted to go to the life I love and the part that didn’t know how to get there.

This framework allows these two aspects of self to communicate, unify, and move forward together. I’ve worked with thousands of clients across six continents to apply this to their business, personal life, and spiritual growth. It doesn’t just apply to the “woo woo” stuff, because everything is inherently spiritual. If you would like support in doing the same, you may want to attend the training I am doing this week for Cycle Breakers. You can learn more about how to work with the 13 Chakra System and check the schedule for the next class on the registration page.

Simply stop trying to get rid of any part of yourself. Stop fighting your nervous system and learn to communicate with yourself with perfect love and perfect trust, because that is where the magic can happen.
