The Superpower of Showing Up

The barrier to entry for success is remarkably low, because I learned that less than 5% of people finish what they start. It’s a staggering statistic, but it highlights a simple truth. The key to extraordinary achievement isn’t a special background or innate genius, but the willingness to cultivate the superpower of showing up, especially when motivation inevitably fades. How do we build this consistency and join that small percentage of people who see things through to the end?

The Shocking Truth About Finishing What You Start

Think about it for a moment. The world is full of brilliant ideas and passionate beginnings that fizzle out. We see this pattern everywhere:

  • How many people sign up for a gym in January, only to be gone by February?
  • How many people buy an online course and never get past the first module?
  • How many people start a project with incredible passion, only to abandon it a week later?

Less than 5% of people will ever finish what they start. Think about that.

Why Consistency is The Superpower of Showing Up

The ability to show up day after day and follow through on your commitments is a legitimate superpower in today’s world. With the average attention span shrinking, the bar for success has become surprisingly low. If you can master the simple ability to be consistent with something, you will be light-years ahead of everyone else in no time at all.

So, I want you to congratulate yourself just for being here and reading this. If you finish this post, you are already demonstrating that you’re part of a small percentage of people who are capable of creating real, lasting change. This isn’t about being born into a special family or having some secret advantage.

The people who truly create massive influence and change in the world are the ones who have mastered the simple art of showing up consistently towards a singular vision. They do it when they’re excited. They do it when they’re bored. They do it when it’s easy, and they do it when it’s hard.

It’s Not About Where You Start

People often ask me how I’ve built everything I’ve created, expecting some story of an easy start. But the truth is, I didn’t have one. I grew up just like a normal person in the middle of Missouri, in a low-income town with a family that had some challenging mindsets.

But the one thing that I chose was to follow through on what I wanted in life. Nothing was handed to me. I simply showed up, especially on the days I didn’t feel like it. So, every time you don’t feel like it, remember this simple truth and finish what you’ve started.

Building the Muscle of Following Through

Every single time you show up for yourself, you are building a muscle. You are sending a powerful message to your subconscious mind that says, “I am someone who follows through.” With each act of consistency, you reinforce the identity of someone who is capable of creating. It is an active choice to be in the 5%. For those who find themselves caught in cycles of starting and stopping, it can be powerful to explore ways to Break Free From Self Sabotage and build this muscle more intentionally.

From that place of empowerment and consistency, there is nothing that you cannot achieve. So keep creating, keep showing up for yourself, and I’ll see you on the flip side.
