Why ‘Thinking Outside the Box’ Fails
Everyone tells you to think outside the box, but that phrase has become a meaningless cliché. The truth is, you can’t think your way out of a box created by your own perception. You have to literally expand the box itself. This means widening your perception and expanding your field of vision to see what’s been right there the whole time.
As we discussed in a previous lesson, your awareness acts like a flashlight beam. When you’re in fear, that beam constricts into a laser, making you blind to potential solutions. But you have the power to change this right now.
A 60-Second Hack for How to See the Solutions You’re Missing
I want you to do this simple exercise with me. Please make sure you’re in a safe place and not driving. This will prove how much power you have to change your focus instantly.
- Scan for Red: Look around the room or space you’re in and find everything that is the color red or a shade of red. Find the red books, a red logo, or the red in a painting. Lock in three, four, or maybe five red things in your mind.
- Close Your Eyes: Once you have the red items memorized, close your eyes. No cheating!
- Recall Blue: With your eyes still closed, try to think of everything in the room that was the color blue.
- Open Your Eyes: Now, open your eyes and consciously look for the color blue.
The ‘Blue’ Is The Opportunity You Didn’t See
Chances are, you struggled to name something blue right away. That’s because your focus, your conscious directive, filtered it out. The blue things were always there; you just couldn’t see them. When you opened your eyes and looked for blue, you suddenly saw it everywhere.
The blue is the opportunity you didn’t have. The blue is the unexpected path that your brain can’t see when you’re focused on red or the problems. The blue is the solution to your biggest problems, and it’s always there.
You just can’t see it when you’re not tuned to its frequency. This simple exercise proves that you constantly filter reality based on your perception and focus. The issue is that most of us have our filters permanently set to find problems, look for danger, and scan for what’s wrong. Our consciousness has become an expert at finding the red stuff.
Rewiring Your Mind to Scan for Solutions
Your brain and energy field have been programmed to track threats. To become a conscious creator and architect your reality, you must learn to deliberately choose to look for blue. You must train your consciousness to look for beauty, opportunity, solutions, and the answers you actually want. That is how you expand your perception and make the box bigger.

What do I choose to create?
Then, answer that question using only words that describe what you choose. Do not use any words that mention what you don’t want. This is harder than it sounds, so be gentle with yourself as you rewire your mind to hunt for the solutions that align with what you truly desire.
