Let’s talk about spells. Consider the word television. When we break it down, it literally means to “tell a vision.” The programming comes to us through a channel, a specific frequency that is designed to tell a particular vision. This is a powerful concept when you think about it.
Many of us understand that to “channel” is to allow a divine essence to flow through you. Some people are natural channels, bringing through higher consciousness and light to share with the world. However, a television also channels a vision. The information it presents is sent out as a “broadcast.” Notice the language here, it is casted broadly. In other words, a spell is cast over a wide audience.
The Ceremonial Magic of the ‘News’
This idea becomes even more intriguing when we examine the word “news.” I recently heard from another creator that the word NEWS is an acronym for North, East, West, and South. This insight was completely new to me, and it clicked immediately. This is the language of ceremonial magic.
In a magical ceremony, you call in the four directions, the North, the East, the West, and the South. These directions correspond to the four corners of the earth and the four elements. After calling in the directions, you then cast your spell. In the modern ritual of watching the news, the “television” acts as the tool in the ceremony, and the spell is cast broadly to everyone tuned in.
